“… But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret … When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret … When thou fastest … appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly”  (Matthew 6:1–18).
