The church where the Children’s Institute is held

We have finished the week in Vaslui. It was very different from what we expected. The Children’s Institute felt like a whirlwind, but the kids still loved it. The teenagers loved it too. We’ve never had a group of teenagers watch the Children’s Institute with such interest and participation. Sometimes we had as many teens as children!

A Children’s Institute team

The evening team meetings ended up with more than 50 teenagers attending. Jacob led discussions about different passages of Scripture, followed by question-and-answer sessions. Honestly, the teens were more interested in spending time with us than anything else, but this gave us many opportunities to speak the truth, share about a genuine relationship with God, and demonstrate the joy of the Lord.

There isn’t much to do in Vaslui. The majority of the teens have never even left their city. To have a bunch of Americans invade Vaslui was very exciting for them. They wanted to spend as much time with us as possible. When it was time for us to leave, the whole group gathered at the top of the hill and hugged and kissed us. They didn’t want us to leave. They kept begging us to not forget them and to return to Vaslui as soon as possible. We exchanged e-mail addresses. There certainly will be a lot of communicating with students when we return to the U.S.
