Our team arrived back at the training center late this evening after a very full and surprising day. This morning, our team visited a Spanish-speaking church. Taylor, Michelle, and Lindsay shared personal testimonies to encourage the Mexican congregation. After singing a song, some of the team went on to an English-speaking Baptist Church about 20 minutes away to share with their congregation.

Immediately after church, the entire team came back to the training center for a delicious meal of spicy, red Mexican rice. We grabbed our supplies and headed over to the Oasis orphanage to set up for the Children’s Institute. Only nine kids came, but this ended up being fine, as some of the team was able to help the orphanage staff with a number of projects.

Highlights of the day included the Lost and Found Sons and David and Goliath skits. Most of the team participated in the action. Jeff Ramsey represented fearsome Goliath, stuffing balloons under his costume that popped when he crashed to the floor.

All in all, the day went incredibly well and the team seemed to handle all of the surprises with flexibility. Our biggest prayer request right now is that more children will come tomorrow night. We have heard that this is a definite possibility!
