A student at one of the schools we visited
A busy week is going by so fast! Every day we have been teaching in schools in the morning and at the Children’s Institute at night. Each morning we drive to a different school. The whole assignment is full of many variables—the number of children in each school, how many translators will be available, the ages of the children we will be teaching (most days it’s younger kids, but today we had a bunch of teenagers), how long we will have with them, etc. Since we seldom know these details until we arrive at a school campus, we are doing a lot of coming up with things at the last minute, but this team is great at it!

We have been teaching truthfulness quite a bit, as well as giving testimonies, having Daniel teach through balloon illustrations, teaching English lessons, and interacting with the kids during recess (or random birthday parties—a couple of us were invited to join a birthday party at a school yesterday—very fun!).
The Children’s Institute is going well. We have about 200 children attending. The kids seem to be listening and learning, even if the whole process takes place in a very noisy environment. Peruvians kids can be loud! The team leaders have been doing a great job with their groups, especially considering that many of them are working without assistants. Most Children’s Institute teams consist of one American, one translator, a couple helpers who speak only Spanish, and about 14–18 children. Many of our Spanish-speaking assistants are Sunday school teachers who are not only helping us, but using this as a way to learn new techniques for working with children. Best news of the day: a couple of children received salvation tonight!
Basic Seminar attendees
Lives are being changes by the Basic Seminar. (It is taking place downstairs in the convention center while we work upstairs with the children.) Many of the adults and teens are asking questions of those who are working at the seminar. One lady was in tears last night as she explained how much the seminar had meant to her that evening.

You can pray that the team stays healthy. We are keeping a very busy schedule and several team members aren’t feeling terrific. Please pray for the children with whom we are interacting each day—that we would communicate Christ to them and that this would leave a long-lasting impression on their lives. We also have the privilege of interacting with many of the pastors of Lima. These men have such a vision for what God can do in their congregations through the message of the seminar. Please pray that God would bring lasting fruit from their hard work putting together this seminar.
