Through the Journey to the Heart program, hundreds of youth have now embarked on the most important journey of their lives—a journey to love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Many now know Him with an intimacy that they never imagined possible.

What is a Journey?

Phase I: Preparation With Distance Learning

After your application has been accepted, you will receive three courses that will help prepare you for a successful Journey. What you learn in these courses will also help you for the rest of your life.

Phase II: The Journey

Northwoods Lake

After completing these courses, you will travel to IBLP’s Oak Brook Headquarters. There you will receive training and orientation for the Journey. On Monday morning you will travel by van to the beautiful Northwoods Conference Center in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This includes 3,000 acres of beautiful woods and lakes.

For a week you will explore various types of heart conditions and identify the attitudes of the heart that please God. You will follow a syllabus and schedule that are based on 40 years of youth ministry, enjoying times of group discussion, personal time with God, rich fellowship, prayer, singing, journaling, and walks through the woods. You and your team of ten to twelve will stay in a beautiful home on the lake or a section in the conference center lodge in which you will make your own meals and work together as a team.

The Journey concludes with further training back in Oak Brook. This training is designed to help you confirm God’s direction for your life and equip you to be successful in carrying it out.
