Memories from Family Camp
The theme this year was “Seeing Christ in Creation.” The focus was on the many ways that Christ is manifested to us through His creation, including animals, the human body, and nature. Sharing at camp meetings were Dave Nutting from Alpha & Omega Institute and Dr. Jobe Martin, who wrote The Evolution of the Creationist. And of course, Family Camp would not be complete without Dr. Lew Sterrett who shared his messages from horseback.
There were many special events throughout the week, including a “Stick Horse Rodeo,” and “Trade Days” (a time for campers to sell or swap homemade items or other wares). We also enjoyed “The Legend of El Socoh,” a western musical which told the story of a town from long ago called El Socoh and Davey, a Texas boy.A Family Camp 5k Race, an Outdoor Movie Night with popcorn, and a Children’s Bible Story Hour were additions to the annual Family Camp. Other activities included a campfire sing-along, crafts for ladies, archery, rappelling down the ALERT tower, volleyball tournaments, and canoe races.
The goal of Family Camp is to provide an affordable and edifying vacation for families. Families discover not only a vacation, but also a memorable experience of fellowship, encouragement, relaxation, enjoyment, and inspiration!
The dates for the 2015 Family Camp are October 10-17. We hope to see your family there! To find out more information, please visit the Family Camp website.
