Verity's Mission Trip to Romania
Relationships began forming between the team members and Romanian young people. As countless stories of unimaginable brokenness surfaced, the love of God slowly comforted and brought grace into the hearts of all those present. One of the orphan girls shared through a translator a new understanding that had dawned on her: “This is a journey to the heart, and to get to the heart, you must first go through the cross.”
The Romania IBLP Office reported halfway through the week, “The impact of the Verity students in Romania is far beyond our dreams. On Wednesday, for example, the orphans were given the opportunity to share lies they’ve believed about themselves. A spirit of revival came among the small groups as the orphans were able to open their hearts and confess the lies they’ve believed. The students were able to lead them toward freedom through the Word of God. We cannot help but praise God for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Various team members also shared from their experiences:“Being able to get to know some of the guys and girls, the Lord has shown me bits of His heart. I see how precious they are to Him and how needy they are of His love to fill the gaping holes in their hearts.” –Carmen
“Looking back on the trip, probably one of the biggest things that stood out to me is the fact that no matter where you go in the world, people are still people, and they have the same needs. Whether you are in Indiana, Romania, Zimbabwe, or Taiwan, people still need to know that they are valuable, wanted, and loved by God.” –Thomas“If in five days we can communicate our love for these valuable people, how much more can the God of the Universe demonstrate His vast love for them over the next few days, months, and years? ‘So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase’ (I Corinthians 3:7).” –Hannah
“Though we know it is God who brings the increase, it is an exciting privilege to be a small part of that process. We rest in the confidence that His Word is watering seeds which will one day spring forth and bear fruit for the glory of His Kingdom.” –BrentPlease continue to pray for those who are laboring in the country of Romania as they translate materials into the Romanian language and teach character lessons in the local school systems. God is truly doing a great work in Romania and your prayers are vital to the continuation of that work.
