Young Men’s Journey to the Heart
The guys were asked to set themselves apart from devices and things that could easily distract the heart. Throughout the week, most of the guys saw God move in one way or another. It was amazing to see almost all the guys focused on the Lord—definitely an answer to prayer!
A recurring theme throughout the revised Journey book is meditation. Quite a few of the guys had heard of the concept of meditation on God’s Word at Family Connections meetings or at Family Conferences, but before the Journey week, they had never really done it. It was exciting to hear them share that they were truly beginning to meditate on God’s Word! There weren’t any “fireworks” or major breakthroughs. Instead, the Lord worked in gradual ways. Some of those who just claimed to be Christians got real and began to seek Him. One example: a young man who was “strongly encouraged” to come was just trying to get through the week. The Lord used one message to challenge him: He was only claiming to be a Christian; he wasn’t really seeking God. From that point on, this young man began to truly seek God.
At the end of the week it was great to hear the testimonies the guys shared and to hear of the Lord’s working in their lives.
Thank you for your prayers for the Journey. The Lord works through the prayers of His people. Prayer is the greater work. Thank you!
