The 2016 Biblical Character Illustrated Calendar now has a corresponding children’s curriculum! In 2016, IBLP is offering, in conjunction with the traditional calendar, downloadable app, and daily emails, several online resources for parents to use as they teach character each month in the home. These additional activity pages will be available as a free download on our website in the Biblical Character section.
The character quality for January is Responsibility, which includes the following resources:
Bible Story – Since the calendar features an illustration of a Bible story related to the character quality each month, this resource directs you to read and discuss the Biblical account from God’s Word. It also offers outline questions to promote discussion and application as a family. Here you will also find a printable coloring page for the enjoyment of younger children during this family Bible time.
Activity – This section brings the character quality to life with practical application and an object lesson or craft to make the character focus in your home fun and memorable.
Hymn and Hymn History – Each month a hymn is highlighted to correspond to the month’s character quality. The story of how the hymn was written or how the Lord used it to change lives serves as an encouraging testimony or illustration of the character quality focus.
Character Quality in Scripture – The memory verse page offers a creative way to memorize the month’s verse and a place to journal application opportunities. Also included are topics for further study, discussion questions, or lessons from nature to facilitate meditation on God’s Word and a focus on the attributes of our Lord.
We hope that these free online resources are a blessing to you and your family as you draw closer to our Savior and as you seek His face through the situations your family experiences each day.
