When teens are asked about changes they would like to see in their parents’ lives, their wishes often fall into three basic categories. They wish their parents (especially their fathers) would (1) admit when they are wrong, (2) control their tempers, and (3) keep their promises.
A father and mother’s jurisdiction ends when they transfer authority in marriage or when they release an adult son or daughter for training, work, or ministry.
Christian children, wives, citizens, and employees are not excused from obedience because their authority figures are not believers. We should do that which our authorities require of us as long as it is within the boundary of God’s Word.
