The day begins in the evening! Is your mind stayed upon God at that time? Do you turn from your work, die to yourself, and acknowledge your need for His lovingkindness? Do you rest each night in His sovereignty? If so, mornings can be likened to resurrection–a natural time for us to go to God early in grateful and humble prayer and start life afresh. As Johnny Pope reminds us, “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning …” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
