Have you ever been so used to what you are doing and what you’ve been given by God that it takes a complete stranger to wake you up to the privileges you have? This realization was my experience at our second Australian Family Day for the year. At IBLP in Australia, we are excited to see how God is using us to strengthen and challenge His people.
At our second Family Day for the year, approximately 100 people attended. At this monthly Thursday program, we look at a command of Christ and an associated character quality. How exciting for us to watch the older teens and young adults lead this program and grow in their ability to communicate God’s truth. On this particular day, a few new families came. One of those new families was a local homeschooling mum with her four children all under seven years old (and another on the way). This mum just visibly relaxed as she interacted with the program. She joined in the action songs as she watched her boys participating. Her face took on an extra shine as the day progressed, and she shared that this was exactly the kind of group she was looking for—where her children could be with likeminded people who would build them up in the Lord and encourage them to grow in their faith. She has immediately returned home and booked into other upcoming events! This mum is very keen to become a regular part of our group. Praise God that we can provide an environment for encouragement and growth for His people who are choosing to follow His narrow way.
These times of seeing God use this ministry to bless and inspire others is what keeps us going. We’ve got more events planned for this year, including seminars shown on a long weekend, a Scripture Memory Bee, a Family Connect Conference, and more Family Days. Praise God for those whose service makes these uplifting events possible. We look forward to what God has planned to do through us to reach others with His life-changing Word!
