Render to Caesar: Part 2

The “double command” in this command is eye-opening! Jesus didn’t just command us to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s” — He also commanded us to “render to God the things that are God’s.” Truly everything we have is from the Lord and is to be used for the Lord. If we gain a vision for “rendering to God the things that are God’s” it will have a profound impact on every aspect of our lives.

In the often-overlooked command Render to Caesar Nate and Gabe unearth the context and background of this command as well as the rich application that this holds for our lives here and now. First and foremost, we are to “render to God things that are God’s” — namely we are to surrender to God our lives which bear His image! And secondly we are to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s.” It is beautiful to realize that when we honor the God-ordained authority structure, we are actually honoring God Himself and showcasing His love to those in authority!

Nate Paine enjoys encouraging people in God’s Word. When he was eleven years old, Nate gave his life to the Lord, and about that same time, felt God’s call on his life to preach the Word. In his teens and his twenties, he began to mentor young men through the Journey to the Heart as well as pour himself into prison ministry discipling inmates in multiple correctional facilities.
