Christ’s Commands in Action: Ira Sankey

June 29, 2026

What happens when we obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings, even when they lead us beyond our comfort zone? In this episode, we reflect on Christ’s command, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear,” through the life and ministry of Ira Sankey, the beloved hymn writer and gospel singer who partnered with D.L. Moody. From a Civil War encounter spared by a hymn to countless opportunities to follow the Lord’s leading we are reminded, through the story of Ira Sankey, that God works powerfully through believers who cultivate intimacy with Christ and respond in faithful obedience. Together, we are encouraged to spend time in God’s Word, listen for the Shepherd’s voice, and trust Him to use our lives for His glory in ways we may never fully see this side of eternity.
