New Year Prayer Initiative Leads to Monthly I Timothy 2:1 Prayer Calls

March 24, 2025

At the end of last year, our staff was challenged to begin 2025 with a focus on prayer. After listening to a clip from a message on prayer by evangelist Caleb Reed, Tim Levendusky, the president of IBLP, invited employees and their families to a prayer challenge. He suggested that they spend an hour in prayer each day for the first twenty-one days of the new year.

Several days later, it was proposed that we extend this exciting prayer initiative to others. We sent emails to families across the world to see who might want to join us in this prayer challenge. We also began to write and prepare emails in anticipation for the beginning of the year! Excitement built as people started registering for this 21-Day Prayer Challenge.

On January 1, we began the new year by praising the Lord for Who He is! During the next three weeks, each day we focused on a specific topic in prayer. One day praying for the lost was specifically highlighted.

The day after that particular prayer focused on praying for the lost, we received a message from a father. He told us he had spent time praying for those who were unsaved. Later that day, his son told him that he had received Jesus as his Savior! Praise the Lord for a precious answer to prayer!

Another participant shared: “This [challenge] really helped me to grow in my prayer life and also helped me to start the new year with a different perspective on prayer. I loved the quotes you sent every day!! My prayer life has changed!! Thank you again!”

We also extended this invitation to inmates across the country; we were very excited to hear that several of them would be joining us! One of them wrote, “I am 45-years-old and now realize that doing things my way have gotten me nothing but heartache and failure. I want to live for God and show Him how much I love Him. I am going to start the 21 Days of Prayer Challenge on January 1, 2025.”

At the end of the 21-Day Prayer Challenge, we hosted an online prayer call for participants to share what the Lord had done in their lives through the challenge and to encourage one another to continue seeking the Lord through prayer. The sharing time was special, and we are excited to announce that for the remainder of 2025, we will be hosting monthly prayer calls on the twenty-first of each month!

In I Timothy 2:1, we read of the priority God places on prayer in the life of the believer:

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.

In light of this exhortation, we invite you to join us for a new monthly prayer initiative that we are calling I Timothy 2:1 Prayer Calls. On the twenty-first of each month, families and individuals from across the country and even from around the world are being invited to join these prayer calls. Just remember “2:1 on 21” and join us for this special time of obeying the Scriptural admonition found in I Timothy 2:1.

Each monthly video call will run from 7:00–8:00 p.m., Central Time. The following is a sample agenda of what to expect in each month’s prayer call:

  • Introduction
  • Exhortation on Prayer
  • Sharing Time
  • Prayer in Small Groups
  • Conclusion

Even if you are unable to attend the calls every month, feel free to still sign up to receive the reminder emails and just participate as you are able. We look forward to the opportunity to fellowship and pray together with you! Visit our website at familyconferences.org and sign up for our email list to receive updates about how you can be a part of this special prayer initiative.

Praise the Lord that there is no place where we cannot talk to God! He is faithful and He will never leave us or forsake us. We rejoice in what He has done through this prayer challenge. May this challenge be the beginning of us making prayer a priority every day of our lives!
