Merry Christmas from the Institute in Basic Life Principles! During this special time of the year, we want to encourage you to gather your family around the Word of God and enjoy the Christ of Christmas. For this purpose we put together a special video greeting with Luke chapter two illustrated in a special whiteboard sketch. We hope that you and your family enjoy this video and can better picture the events surrounding the arrival of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Forty young men and women came for a Journey to the Heart held in Australia November 9-16, 2014. The young ladies stayed at the IBLP Training Centre in Lilydale outside of Melbourne. The young men traveled to a more remote location a couple of hours east of Melbourne. During the 8-day retreat, leaders shared vital Christian truths about the nature of God and His love for each one of them. This was a journey to knowing the heart of God and how to experience His love through faith in Jesus Christ. The young men and women learned and experienced that Christianity is a life-giving relationship with God rather than a list of religious duties. The joy of obeying and serving the Lord comes from knowing of His love for us. The teams studied reasons why their relationship with God has been hindered and how to clear up those obstacles. One leader spoke about experiencing difficulty with her team because most of the young ladies were reluctant to share. Eventually, the leader asked what kept them from talking. They opened up and discussed some of the reasons. At the next team session, the young ladies were talking so much that they were interrupting each […]

The 2014 Malaysia Family Conference was held November 13-15 in the historic city of Melaka with 360 participants coming from Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia. The ALERT Cadet challenge and a new program for young ladies called STRETCH were conducted in a local park. Students from all ages were involved in the programs. Tim Levendusky welcomed the group and visited with many people throughout the conference. Gabriel Cleator spoke several times to the parents and young people on topics such as gratitude and abiding in Christ. Other sessions were covered using video messages from Tom Harmon, David Gibbs Jr, George Mattix, David Waller, Chad Christiansen, and Gil and Kelly Bates. A group from each nation represented at the conference shared something culturally unique from their country in a special presentation on the final day. Thomas Teh gave certificates to seven couples who had served more than ten years each through their volunteering with the IBLP and ATI ministries in Southeast Asia. Parents were glad to see one another and share the time together in reunions and visiting with families they knew from past conferences. The conference concluded in prayer.

The stated corporate purpose of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, Inc. is to introduce individuals to God’s basic way of life through the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Institute remains committed to this purpose and to helping individuals live out their salvation, received by grace through faith, and apply Biblical truths in their daily lives.
I consider it a great privilege to be asked to serve as interim president of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, a ministry that changed my life many years ago. My personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and the desire to advance His Gospel has grown because of my involvement with the people in this ministry for the past 27 years.
As the Institute goes through a transition, it is important to have a leadership team that can review the past, evaluate the present, and plan for the future.
It has been awe-inspiring this year to watch the light go on in the lives of many young people as they go on a Journey to the Heart. When they actually catch a glimpse of the true reality of an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God, their perspective of this life changes, never to be the same again.
